National Integration Tour flagged off

Khuga Battalion Assam Rifles flagged off a National Integration Tour (NIT) from Khuga on Saturday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the NIT was flagged off by 27 Sector Assam Rifles commander Brig Michael D'Souza, who highlighted that the project was conceived with a singular aim of broadening the horizon of the students of the border villages by exposing them to the rich history, culture and traditions of our country under the supervision of IGAR (S) Maj Gen Rajan Sharawat.
He encouraged the participants to make the most of the opportunity and learn from this unique experience.
The colourful flagging off ceremony encompassed cultural performances by a local dance troupe, children of Only Grace Orphanage.
A total of 17 students and 2 teachers from Singhat sub-division is part of the 16-day tour which will cover Delhi, Dimapur and Kohima and places of national, cultural and educational importance.
The tour will also witness a landmark moment, wherein for the first time an all-girl NIT from tribal areas of Manipur will visit and interact with the first tribal President of India, Droupadi Murmu.
