CM flags off troupe for R-Day parade

Imphal, January 07 2023:
Chief Minister N Biren flagged off a cultural troupe of Chief Minister's Indigenous Martial Arts Academy for participation in the Republic Day parade from the campus of the department of art and culture, Palace Compound, here, on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM informed that the government is putting its best efforts for bringing equal development and uplift all the communities and areas equally in order to improve the state's economy.
He called for public support in the effort.
Thang-Ta has been an integral part of the history of Manipur and it also instils a sense of pride, discipline and patriotism among the people, he said and added that the government is focusing on promoting the art form.
The number of institutions providing training on Thang-Ta has increased significantly in the state.

Besides, it has become a subject in the school education, which has given a whole new dimension in the initiative to promote the art form, he said.
The CM also spoke on the duties and responsibilities of politicians in guiding the society and compared the performance of past and present.
He also assured of taking up legal actions against the police ASI, who shot a woman on Thursday night.
