Brig Michael D'Souza flags off National Integration tour

Imphal, January 07 2023:
Brig Michael D'Souza, Commander 2 7 Sector Assam Rifles today flagged off a National Integration Tour (NIT) from Khuga.
Speaking on the occasion, Brig Michael D'Souza stated that the project was conceived with a singular aim of broadening the horizon of the students of border villages by exposing them to the rich history, culture and traditions of the country.
He also shared that the tour was executed under the supervision of Maj Gen Rajan Sharawat, VSM IGAR (South), said a statement of IGAR(S) .
He further encouraged the participants to make the most of this opportunity and learn from the unique experience.
The flagging off ceremony encompassed cultural performances by a local dance troupe, children of Only Grace Orphanage.
A total of 17 students and 2 teachers from Singhat Sub Division will participate in the NIT.
The tour is spread over a period of 16 days and will be visiting Delhi, Dimapur and Kohima.
It will cover places of national, cultural and educational importance.
The tour will also witness a landmark moment wherein for the first time an all Girls NIT from Tribal areas of Manipur will visit and interact with the first Tribal President of India, Draupadi Murmu.
Parents of the students participating in the tour, principals & teachers of schools attended the flagging off ceremony organised by Khuga Battalion of Assam Rifles.
