NRFM celebrates 11th raising day

The Central Executive Committee of National Revolutionary Front of Manipur (NRFM) celebrated the 11th raising day of the group under the leadership of the front's chairman on Saturday.
According to a statement of the Front, the observance began with the chairman hoisting the flag amid cadres singing its anthem.
A two-minute silence was also observed in honour of the slain cadres of the group while carrying out their duties for restoration of a sovereign Manipur.
It was followed by offering of floral tributes at the martyrs' memorial.
Several senior members of the group delivered speeches during the observance and the general secretary read out the group's policies on defence, economy, home, foreign, which include roles and responsibilities of the party cadres.
He also stressed on the need for strengthening the group's Department of Intelligence Service (DIS) .
The foreign secretary extended salute to those cadres, who are spending in jails and those who have become disabled due to excesses committed by security personnel, while also sharing the sorrow and pain of the bereaved families of the slain cadres of the party.
He also extended gratirude to the well-wishers and supporters of the group, and also thanked the group's NCOs, officers, secretaries and cadres for their dedication to the cause, it added.
The statement further informed that the raising day was celebrated by all units, state councils and local committees.
