Model Club beat NAPSA by 18 runs in Veteran Cricket

Imphal, January 07 2023: Model Club-Chingamakha defeated NAPSA by 18 runs in the ongoing 19th Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament at Luker ground today.

Model Club opted to bat first and posted a target of 131 runs for 6 in 30 overs and bowled out NAPSA for 112 runs in 27.3 overs to earn the comfortable victory.

Th Iboyaima (31), S Sunil (29), H Santosh (14) and RK Jotish (14) were notable run getters for Model Club today as Symon (2/22) and Puthiba (2/22) of NAPSA claimed two wickets each.

In reply, Symon (34), C Somorendro (20), L Prefnananda (13) and Ratan (10) did their best but succumbed at 112 runs as G Suresh (3/21) and Th Iboyaima (2/12) rattled their batting line up.

Th Iboyaima who topscored for Model Club and claimed two wickets was named man of the match.

Yesterday, CYCLONE defeated YPHU by 5 wickets courtesy Ph Rohindro who scored 26 runs and picked up three wickets.

After opting to bat first, YPHU were bundled out for 115 runs in 28.3 overs as Ph Rohendro (3/17) and Iqbal (3/ 25) picked up three wickets each and S Tiken and S Robindro snared two wickets each.

CYCLONE then chased down the target in 17.2 overs with 5 wickets left to spare.

YUCC-Kwakeithel Moirang Purel will play KCC-Kongba in the next match tomorrow.
