Noney, January 07 2023:
The Joint Action Committee, National Highway No 37 Expansion Affected Land & Property Owner Association, Nungba HQ has appealed to the Deputy Commissioner Noney to re-conduct the joint assessment survey in the presence of affected beneficiaries at the earliest.
In a release, the JAC informed that DC Noney had issued an order on December 30, 2022 detailing SDO Nungba, DFO (Forest), EE PWD Noney Division, DO (H&SC), AO (Agriculture) and representatives of NHIDCL as members to conduct a joint survey on January 5, 2023 for assessing left out properties including graveyards and collateral damages during cutting of 2 lane with paved shoulder on NH-37 from chainage no 101+280 to 131+280 between Khongsang and Kambiron, Nungba Subdivision, Noney district.
The committee alleged that despite SDO Nungba being entrusted & designated as team leader of the survey, Lambu/4 grade staff of SDO Nungba led the team and excluded many rightful land affected beneficiaries with fake/fraudulent beneficiaries list.
"The 4 Grade staff sided with the illegitimate chairman against the gazetted and authenticated chairman Gaibilung Kamei", it claimed.
The JAC also alleged that the joint assessment survey which was meant to be conducted on the field/ground was easily table-worked at the whims and fancies of the SDO staff in the absence of real land affected owners, leaving all genuine sites and structures which will be damaged by widening of the highway.
The JAC further cautioned that it would launch a series of democratic agitation if the DC failed to initiate necessary action against the corrupt officials and re-conduct the joint survey at the earliest.
