4th Magalong students' union conference begins

The two-day 4th conference of Magulong Na Students' Union (MNSU) organised by MNSU (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) under the theme "Building on the Best" began on Saturday at Magulong Village, Tamenglong.
The inaugural function which was held with Tamenglong ADC former chairman Namsinrei Panmei as chief guest was attended by Mahur Municipal Board, Dima Hasao, Assam vice chairman Heuwangbamv Pame as special guest.
Speaking at the event, Namsinrei stressed the need for unity and peace for infrastructure development and urged the student community to be dedicated and committed in their educational pursuit so that Magulong village could develop in every aspect.

He also pointed out that Magulong village has produced the 1st and only MLA (Pauheu) of Zeme tribe from Tamei constituency who was the deputy speaker in the Manipur Legislative Assembly.
He assured the gathering that Pauheu memorial museum will be constructed in Magulong village with due consultation with the local MLA Awangbow Newmei who is also the minister of Water Resources, Relief & Disaster Management.
A memorial stone was also unveiled by the chief guest on the occasion.
More than 200 students of Magulong natives coming from Assam, Manipur & Nagaland took part in the programme.
The conference will have traditional and cultural shows, musical extravaganza and distribution of meritorious awards and clean and green home awards to students along with holding of elections of MNSU office bearers for the 2023-25 terms.
Later, the chief guest inaugurated the "Everspring Park" which was developed by the villagers of Magulong without any help from the government.
The park which is a People's Project to regenerate, protect and embrace the environment aims to harvest and conserve water for the villagers.
