Three rustlers arrested, one absconding

Imphal, November 23 2022: A combined team of Nambol police station and Bishnupur district police commandos arrested three people, who reportedly stole a pregnant cow, butchered it and sold the meat.

The arrested rustlers have been identified as Warepam Naoba alias Arun (32) s/o Achouba and Wahengbam Dolenday alias Bungcha (33) s/o Kala of both of Phoijing Tera Makhong Makha Leikai, and Md Burhanuddin alias Zeva Khan (34) s/o Md Kheiruddin Khan of Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai, Samurou Makha.

According to a police report, on receiving reliable information about the three accused people with regard to an FIR registered by Nambol PS, the combined team arrested the trio from their respective residences.

However, another accused identified as Md Firoz alias Firu Khan (36) s/o (L) Md Aku Khan of Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai is still absconding.

Firoz was previously arrested in 2010 as a member of the proscribed KCP, the report conveyed.
