Sangai Fest bound cultural troupe from Bangladesh felicitated

Members of Rajarshi Bhagyachandra Cultural Foundation, Manipur organised a felicitation ceremony to accord a warm welcome to the cultural troupe from Academy of Manipuri Cultural and Arts, Bangladesh who are here to partake in the Sangai festival.
The felicitation programme was held at the office of Rajarshi Bhagyachandra Cultural Foundation, Manipur located at Thouda Bhabok Leikai today.
The function was attended by RK Sanajaoba, president, Rajarshi Bhagyachandra Cultural Foundation, Manipur; Moirangthem Ashok, general secretary; B Amusana Sharma, senior advisor; Takhellambam Irabot, treasurer and other important officials of the Foundation.
Members of the cultural troupe from Bangladesh were presented with simple gifts to honour them.
The cultural troupe, in return, also presented gifts to the Foundation.
Speaking on the occasion, Gurumayum Santo, Academy of Manipuri Cultural and Arts, Bangladesh expressed joy upon being welcomed by the Foundation in their homeland.
He shared that the Academy of Manipuri Cultural and Arts, Bangladesh was established in 2003 to promote Meitei traditional dance in Bangladesh.
Further, he pointed out the lack of professional Meitei dancers in Bangladesh.
Lastly, he briefly shared that an unnamed intellectual group from Bangladesh attempted to prevent them from participating in the Sangai festival, however, the cultural troupe prevailed.
He also urged Chief Minister N Biren Singh to look into this matter.
