Assam Rifles seizes drugs worth ₹118

Troops of Assam Rifles Moreh Battalion on Wednesday seized 118 kg of pseudoephedrine worth Rs 118 crore in the international market from an auto-rickshaw at Phungchong village mobile vehicle check post under the jurisdiction of Moreh police station.
According to a report, a mobile check post was set up at Phungchong village upon receiving specific information about movement of contraband items.
Five gunny bags containing 118 kg of pseudoephedrine were seized from an auto rickshaw at the check post.
However, the driver of the auto-rickshaw fled away.
While pointing out that pseudoephedrine is used in making methamphetamine tablets, the report stated that the seized items have been handed over to Moreh police station for necessary action.
Meanwhile, PRO IGAR(S) informed that based on specific input regarding movement of drug dealer along with contraband drugs, a mobile vehicle check post was established at Phungchong village in New Moreh.
After a suspected Auto Rickshaw was intercepted, detailed search of the vehicle led to the recovery of the five sacks (118 Kg) containing suspected Pseudoephedrine tablets.
