Thoubal, November 23 2022:
The earth dug-up from the paddy fields, which had fallen off and abandoned along Thoubal Kasom Road of Yairipok Singa in Thoubal district is causing huge conveniences to the people, including causing accidents in the area.
As such, the locals have drawn the attention of DC Thoubal and the authority concerned to look into the matter and alleviate the suffering of the people.
Speaking to newspersons in this regard on Wednesday, Yairipok Singa locals Alhaj Najiruddin alias Iboton and Md Zakir Hussain recounted that the Thoubal DC had issued an order on November 7 not to bring up the earth from the paddy fields onto the road for safety of the people.
However, the tractor drivers are disregarding the order, which is highly unfortunate.
Yairipok Police had carried out a publicity not to engage in such acts which would inconvenience the people.
Despite repeated efforts to clean the roads by those residing alongside the route the entire exercise has been rendered meaningless as the vehicles carrying the earth are too many.
The earth, which had fallen off the vehicles on the roads, are now causing two-wheelers to slip.
By afternoon, the road dust is affecting the people walking on foot or the houses nearby, thereby causing development of respiratory problems, both of them conveyed.
As such, they urged the DC Thoubal and the authority concerned to look into the matter and take up necessary action to prevent such situations in the future, while also helping to maintain cleanliness on the road.
