NPF workers of accused issuing threats

Strongly condemning the act of workers of Naga People's Front (NPF) who forcefully entered and demanded every household in Unopat village, Western Valley Area of Chandel District under 41-Chandel Assembly Constituency to vote for NPF; Western Valley Area Sinnu Ruwl, Chandel District has appealed to the District Election Officer (DEO), Chandel for taking up necessary measures for ensuring the elections are held in a peaceful manner.
Speaking to newspersons along with representatives of 11 villages of Western Valley Area on Sunday; Sinnu Ruwl president Rd Nihring recounted that from 7 pm Saturday till 1 am Sunday, armed workers of NPF barged into the houses in Unopat village, destroyed the properties and threatened the villagers to vote for the party.
He condemned the incident and appealed to all candidates of all political parties for conducting peaceful campaigns in the 11 villages of Western Valley area.
Meanwhile, Unopat Village Authority secretary KL Solomon urged NPF workers not to repeat such intimidating acts in the future, while appreciating Sugnu police for their timely response to the matter.
