Imphal, February 20 2022:
Reacting sharply to the alleged motivated attack on the National People's Party (NPP) and its supporters repeatedly, Meghalaya Chief Minister and party National president Conrad K Sangma has asserted that Manipur is becoming more like a hub of crimes which is unfamiliar in other parts of the world as the election dates draw near.
Addressing a one day political conference held at Ukhongsang Mayai Leikai today, Conrad Sangma continued that NPP is the only party whose ideal is to protect the North East region and her people.
Saying that NPP has been at the forefront whenever the integrity of Manipur and other North East States are put at risk, the NPP chief stated that some parties are resorting to violence as they have no hope of winning the election.

The NPP will give its best effort to penalise whoever are found guilty in injuring the father of an NPP candidate in Andro AC on February 18 by submitting a complaint to the Election Commission, he added.
Continuing that people of Manipur especially the youth have complete faith in NPP, he urged the gathering to support the party whose prime focus is to develop the North East.
Conrad K Sangma also attended the flag hoisting ceremony of NPP candidate in Keirao Constituency Md Nasiruddin Khan alias Boboy held at Kyamgei Muslim Awang Leikai today.
There, he said that the National People's Party will form the next Government as the party has gained the confidence of the people.
He also stated that NPP will win the election in double digit and continued that NPP is the only party which actively stands against the common issues of the North East region such as Armed Forces Special Powers Act and Citizenship Amendment Act.
As NPP is gaining the trust of the people gradually, the party will surely form the next Government, he reiterated and urged the people of Keirao to elect Md Nasiruddin as their representative.
Md Nasiruddin said that he will focus on the areas which were neglected by the previous MLA such as education, healthcare, transport and infrastructure if elected.
Claiming that the sitting MLA of Keirao restricted certain people from attending the programme, he urged all to stop targeting NPP and its supporters.
Deputy Chief Minister Yumnam Joykumar and Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong also attended the programme.
Even as Sangma decried the violence against NPP and its candidates and workers, more reports of such attacks have come in.
