Imphal, February 20 2022:
The Naga Hoho has appealed to public and political party workers to abstain from creating unwanted situations in all Naga inhabited areas of the state during the forthcoming Manipur Legislative Assembly Election 2022 .
In a release, Naga Hoho informed that it is disturbed by the ugly incident at Tobufii village, Manipur where armed miscreants threatened the president of NPF Youth of 45-Mao Assembly Constituency on February 18 .
Naga Hoho called the tragic incident cowardly and stated that such scare tactics have no place in a civilized society when the Nagas are striving for unity among various sections of the society through political settlement.
"In a democratic state, every individual has the right to choose and exercise his/her franchise.
It will be detrimental to the society, if any intending candidates and supporters try to win over the electorates by sheer use of force in the form of intimidation through guns and muscle power", it added.
The Naga Hoho also stated that the electorates must be given space to have free choice and decide what is best for the people.
