ROB organises SVEEP campaigns

Imphal, February 20 2022:
A one-day orientation workshop of Private Register Troupes (PRTs) on Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign for the Manipur Legislative Assembly Elections, 2022 was organised by Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB) Imphal of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, at its auditorium on Sunday.
Manipur joint chief electoral officers Ramananda Nong-meikapam and Md Daulat Khan, former DIPR director Meghachandra Kongbam and ROB regional head Dr Aribam Ibomcha Sharma were the presidium members.
In a release, programme in-charge Thokchom Anthony informed that during the workshop, educating new and young voters on how to vote on EVM, purpose of voter verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT), do's and don'ts of election code of conduct, use of cVIGIL App, registration of voters on ECI portal and communicating the masses through traditional form and inter-personal communication were discussed.
The joint CEOs also urged the electorates to call 1950 toll-free number for voter related queries.
A SVEEP -based play namely "Meehut Khanba" (Election) was also performed by empanelled artistes of ROB, Imphal.
Thokchom Anthony also informed that an Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme on SVEEP was organised at Nambol Awang Leikai, Bishnupur district by ROB, Imphal on Sunday.
Dr Aribam Ibomcha explained about Informed Choice and Ethical Voting to the audience which comprised mainly of new and first time voters whereas SDO/BDO Nambol Khumukcham Renuka explained on inclusive and accessible election, Know Your Candidates App.
The resource person also conducted a quiz contest arid prizes along with certificates were distributed.
Private Registered Troupe (PRT) of ROB Imphal, M/s Nokphade and its renowned aVtistes namely Thokchom Joseph, Laishram Rangilal, Keisham Kuber, Kanta Yambem and Govindas amongst others played a drama based on election.
The drama is played with sarcastic humour conveying the voters not to be influenced by freebies.
President of Nambol Awang Leikai club Konsam Gouramohon Singh presided the event and BLOs H Monita Devi, Yumnam Suniti Devi, Arunjit Singh and other local leaders also attended the event, added the release.
