Many condemn assault of NPF youth leaders at Tobumai

The Naga People's Front (Youth Wing) of 48-Mao AC, Senapati District Student's Association (SDSA), Mao Council, Mao Students Union and Tobumai Village Authority have strongly condemned the barbaric assault on Losii Arou, president of NPF Youth Wing, 48-Mao AC on February 18, 2022 at Tobumai village.
In separate statements, the organisations expressed anguish over the unfortunate incident and urged the concerned authority to take swift and befitting actions against the miscreants.
It warned all concerned to not indulge in such kind of criminal activities in the future.
"The threat to his life and the intimidation meted out to him in front of his wife and young children are acts of cowardice by the assailants masquerading as national workers", it added.
The bodies also vehemently condemned the physical assault of Y Choni of Tobumai village on that same night and urged the perpetrators to come out in the open and apologize.
It also appealed to the public to raise their voice and condemn the dastardly antisocial acts committed by the rogue elements and to extend their cooperation to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the upcoming Assembly election.
Meanwhile, Mao Council called an emergency GBM meeting to discuss the provoking incident and resolved to demand swift action against the assailants.
Mao Students Union also termed the incident as an insult to the entire community which cannot be silenced or tolerated in any circumstances.
"The MSU has also seriously viewed the misusing of our Nagas National movement to cause fear and intimidation to the public", it added.
Likewise, Naga People's Front, Election Core Committee of 45-Mao AC also condemned the assault and threats meted out to the president of 48-Mao NPF Youth Wing.
