SHRI conducts heart camp at Kohima

Imphal, March 26 2022:
A one-day free heart disease detection programme for children aged 0-18 years was held at Naga Hospital, Kohima on Saturday with Shija Hospitals & Research Institute (SHRI), Imphal and National Health Mission, Nagaland jointly organising the camp under the aegis of Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK).
According to SHRI business development deputy manager Takhellambam Pfemkumar, a total of 103 children from various parts of Nagaland were screened by experts during the camp.
Free consultation and free ECHO screening were provided to all the registered individuals.
More than 20 potential patients for ASD Device Closure, VSD Device Closure, PDA device Closure, and open heart surgery cases were detected during the camp, it said.
The children will be treated at Shija Hospitals under the RBSK Scheme, which is an important initiative of central government aiming at early identification and early intervention for children from birth to 18 years to cover 4 D's namely Defects at birth, Deficiencies, Diseases, Development delays including disability, added the release.
