"District Youth Outreach and Consultation on SDG" held

National Foundation for India with the support of European Union has organised a "District Youth Outreach and Consultation on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)" at EBC Gospel Centenary Hall Auditorium, New Lamka, Churachandpur.
The consultative meeting to strengthen the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was hosted by Nest, a Lamka-based youth NGO.
It was attended by various Mental Health Practitioners, Healthcare Workers and Leaders from various fields.
At the event, Pauzagin Tonsing, Director, Centre for Community Initiative (CCI) delivered a keynote speech on the overall context of SDG followed by another speech from Khualpu Tungnung, Executive (SIPCDC), Hope, a UN Agency on Mental Health and SDG in the context of Churachandpur District.

Nest Research Partner, Rachel Chingnunhoih presented an Overview Report of Nest Lamka Suicide Survey Report (2014-2021) which highlight the trends of Mental Wellbeing and causes of Suicide within the District. It may be mentioned that the programme is an initiative of the NFI Field Office, Lamka, focusses on SDG No 3 (Good Health and Well-being) in the context of Mental Health.
A Mental Health Practitioners Directory 2022 for Churachandpur District compiled by Nest was also launched by Dr Kim Simte, Chief Medical Officer, Churachandpur District and dedicated by Rev L Khaikhansong, local Pastor, EBC Church Bungmual.
The Directory developed by NEST is a collation of various Mental Health Practitioners within Churachandpur District, their addresses and ways and means to get in touch with them.
In the second session, a consultation programme was conducted which was focused on sharing Mental Health Prevalence, Drawbacks and Steps among the attending Mental Health Practitioners.
The consultative discussion was attended by Mental Health Practitioners from Churachandpur who stressed on the importance of collectivizing approaches and building a network of responses in addressing mental illness and wellbeing.
It also aimed at building a network among the Mental Health Practitioners to realise the larger goal of achieving SDG No 3 .
UN Young Peacebuilder, Dennis Lallienzuol also spoke on the correlation and localisation of the SDGs.
