CM retains Home, Finance not specified

The Governor of Manipur on Saturday allocated portfolios to the new ministers as CM N Biren Singh re tained the Home Department and any other departments not allocated specifically.
However, the finance portfolio has not been specified.
According to a notification issued by chief secretary and secretary (cabinet) Dr Rajesh Kumar, CM Biren has been allocated the portfolios of Home Department, along with the departments of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, Confidential and Cabinet, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Information and Technology, Planning Department and any other departments not allocated specifically.
Minister Th Biswajit has got the portfolios of Power Department; Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department; Agriculture Department and Science & Technology Department.
Minister Yumnam Khemchand has been allocated the portfolios of Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAHUD) Department; Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department and Education Department while Konthoujam Govindas has entrusted the portfolios of Public Works Department and Youth Affairs and Sports Department.
Minister Nemcha Kipgen has been allocated the port folios of Textiles, Commerce and Industry Department and Co-operation Department.
Minister Awangbow Newmai got the portfolios of Water Resources Department and Relief and Disaster Management Department.
It may be mentioned here that of the 12 ministers to be appointed in the state government, 6 ministers have already taken the oath.
CM Biren had already announced that the remaining 6 ministerial seats would soon be finalised soon, although the exact date is yet to be made known.
Meanwhile, deputy secretary (GAD) Sunanda Thokchom issued an order on Saturday notifying the arrangement of allotment of rooms in the Secretariat in respect of the newly appointed ministers.
As per the order, ministers Yumnam Khemchand has been allotted to Room no 37 - Ground Floor, Annexe Building, New Secretariat; Govindas Room no 230, 1st Floor, Old Secretariat; Nemcha Room no 215-216 Ground Floor, Old Secretariat, and Awangbow Newmai Room no 38 - Ground Floor, Annexe Building, New Secretariat.
