1st MNCA Super Plate Tournament : SDC beat TCMDC by 2 runs in rain-hit match

SDC, Laipham Khunou beat TCMDC, Thongju Part II Pechu Lampak by 2 runs (DLS method) for the first win in 5 Group (B) stage matches of the 1st MNCA Super Plate Tournament at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Luwangsangbam today.
SDC, Laipham Khunou opted to bat first and bowled TCMDC out for 125 runs within 27.5 overs.
In the chase, they were 65/4 in 17.1 overs before rain interrupted the innings.
And as per DLS method, the target was reset to 63 runs in 17.1 overs and eventually SDC emerged winners by 2 runs.
Put to bat first, TCMDC who beat ESU in the previous tie looked to carry forward the winning run but had a shocking start losing Kongbrailatpam Kalyan Sharma on 7 to the star of the day, Bollanath in the third over.

They further slipped to 25-3 in 4.3 overs as Pukhrambam Paikhombajeet was sent packing on 3-ball duck by Maibam Suraj and Suraj Kharibam holed out to Paonam Satyajit on 2 off Bollanath's delivery.
Sarangthem Priyobarta who was hanging on for a while then succumbed on 10 to Konjengbam Monish before Paonam Satyajit trapped both Thongam Nganthoi (22) and Khundrakpam Bijesh (2) lbw to reduce TCMDC to 82-6 within 15.5 overs.
TCMDC slump continued as medium pacer Bollanath and leg break bowler Paonam Satyajit swept the tailenders.
Bollanath returned with the best bowling figures of 4/22 in 6 overs which contained two maidens while Paonam Satyajit finished with 3/19 in 7 overs and Konjengbam Monish with 2/34 in 5.5 overs.
SDC's chase was also not a smooth campaign as they lost Khundrakpam Lemba Singh cheaply on 4 to Laishram Vivekananda within four overs when the score was just 6 runs.
TCMDC bowlers remained in control maintaining a good economy before they reduced SDC to 18-2 in 8.4 overs with Suraj Kharibam dismissing Rahul Chanda on 4 .
Suraj Kharibam then removed Khundrakpam Subhachandra on 9 making it 21-3 for SDC in 11 overs but Konjengbam Monish soaked up some pressure to steady the chase before he departed on 23 .
Moiranthem Deveshor (10 not out) and Kaleb Singh (7 not out) were on the crease unbeaten when the rain stopped the play.
Eventually, Laishram Bollanath who enjoyed a four wicket haul was adjudged man of the match.
