Imphal, June 05 2023:
Questioning the hidden agenda behind Union home min-ister Amit Shah's proposed visit to the state again in 10 days after he left the state without taking any step to stop the ongoing violence, Khundrakpam MLA Th Lokeshwar has expressed suspi-cion if the government of India wants the killing to continue so that the survivor could rule the state.
MLA Th Lokeshwar along with representatives of Apex Com-mittee of Victim Villagers (Ekou, Sadu, Yengkhuman, Dolaithabi and Leitanpokpi Mairenpat) met Governor Anusuiya Uikey and narrated horrific ordeal the dis-placed villagers went through.
They also apprised the Governor of the hardships and suffering the displaced villagers are facing in terms of shortage of essential items, basic medical care and ed-ucation for children among other issues and urged the Governor for taking necessary measures to save lives and properties.
The team also submitted a memo-randum to the Governor After meeting the Governor and submitting the memoran-dum, MLA Th Lokeshwar told media persons in front of Raj Bhavan that the hidden agenda behind Amit Shah's visit to the state after 20 days of violence and the statement he made in the state was questionable.
Instead of pacifying both the warring communities, Amit Shah warned people to stop violence when he returns back to the state in 10 days, Lokeshwar said and asked if it is not the responsibility of Amit Shah to douse the flame of the ongoing clash and why he did not make any concrete statement while in the state.
Even though 10 Kuki MLAs have taken a different path, there are 50 MLAs includ-ing five of Congress who are ready to do anything for Ma-nipur including resignation if required.
However, the 50 MLAs are still unable to sit together and the reason behind it also is question-able, Lokeshwar said and expressed suspicion if Amit Shah is trying to break apart Manipur by summoning Naga MLAs to Delhi amidst the prevailing situation.
