Imphal, June 05 2023:
The Government of India's response or rather inaction to the violent crisis besieging the State has aggrieved and deeply hurt all the people of Manipur, said the All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) .
A sit-in-protest was held today at Kwaikeithel today under the aegis of AMUCO, Kwakeithel Apunba Meira Paibi Lup and CRUCO.
Speaking at the sit-in-protest, AMUCO president Nando Luwang said that the people are deeply aggrieved by the way the Government of India has been handling the violent situation which erupted on May 3 .
The quantum of casualty and destruction of properties has been rising every day as the Government of India has been acting as a silent spectator instead of working to bring a solution to the crisis.
New Delhi has been politicising the crisis and playing communal cards, he said.

The people of Manipur have made it clear on multiple occasions that there should not be more than one Government/administration in the State, the integrity of Manipur is non-negotiable and all the communities should live together in peace and harmony.
However, the Government of India tends to disintegrate Manipur and set up separate administration on ethnic lines in the name of peace talks or political dialogue with different community leaders and militant groups.
Such tendency of New Delhi is extremely exasperating to the people of Manipur, Nando said.
Even today, there are indications of the Government of India scheming to set up a separate administrative unit in Manipur by supporting Kuki militants who are being sponsored by immigrant drug cartels from Myanmar, he said.
The people of Manipur have made it clear that the question of separate administration should not be discussed at all.
Instead, the Government of India must check the illegal and violent activities being carried out by militant groups and mercenaries sponsored by drug cartels who have their origin in Myanmar, he continued.
The way terrorists from Myanmar are conspiring to break up Manipur is quite similar to the way terrorists from Pakistan infiltrate into Kashmir and attempt to disintegrate India.
The Government of India should deal with the terrorists from Myanmar in the same manner it dealt with the terrorists from Pakistan, he said.
The Government of India must be held accountable for the large-scale violence and the resulting casualty which took place before, during and after Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to the State.
The Government of India ought to take up strong action to drive out the illegal immigrants from Myanmar.
At the same time, the State Government needs to take up concrete actions in the interest of the people, Nando said.
All the civilian volunteers who have taken the onus of defending the State from external aggression in the face of the Government of India's inaction must be appreciated and supported, he said.
The AMUCO president categorically stated that the demand for separate administration should not be considered under any circumstances.
He went on to accuse the Assam Rifles of supporting external forces who have been threatening the integrity of India.
He then demanded immediate withdrawal of all Assam Rifles troops from Manipur.
