Federation of Haomee convenes meet with indigenous hill communities

Roles and responsibilities of Tangkhul and Meeteis villagers in battling the ongoing turmoil in the State were deliberated.
The above was discussed during a public meeting convened at Kongleiram Tangkhul village in Kangpokpi district yesterday.
Federation of Haomee conducted the meeting as a part of the series of meetings held with indigenous hill communities which adhere to customary rules of Yek-Salai, said a press note by Federation of Haomee.
The meeting was attended by Village Chief Aleng, Federation of Haomee president Sapamcha Jadumani, vice president Dr K Heera Kabui and many eminent village leaders.
Apart from thoroughly discussing the collective responsibilities of Tangkhul and Meetei communities residing at Khunthak and Khunkha, the attendees also resolved to fight against the activities of external aggressors who have been disrupting the peaceful co-existence among the various indigenous communities of the State.
It was also resolved to protect the unity and integrity of Manipur.
