Protest demonstrations continue urging for protection of State's integrity

Sit-in protests were staged at different places today raising the call for safeguarding the State's integrity amid the turmoil which has been posing serious threat to State's integrity and unity.

Wangoo Laikhong Apunba Meira Paibi Lup and Wangoo Ahallup Awang Leikai Meira Paibi Lup Ema Meirapaibi jointly organised a sit-in demonstration today at Wangoo Laikhong in Kumbi Assembly Constituency.
One of the protestors, Thangjam ongbi Babita Leima highlighted the plights of the people due to the ongoing unrest in the State.
Urging for the restoration of peace and normalcy, she maintained that the current unrest will be resolved when the illegal activities of the armed SoO Kuki militants are checked and they are confined at their respective designated camps.

During the protests, placards which read as 'We want peace and tranquillity', 'Revoke SoO agreement', 'Implement NRC in Manipur', 'Safeguard Manipur's territorial integrity' etc were used and similar slogans were raised by the protestors. Thoubal
All Changamdabi Club Co-ordinating Committee organised a sit-in demonstration at Yairipok Changamdabi Mathak Community Hall today urging for the protection of integrity of Manipur.
Speaking at the occasion Committee convenor Ishaque Shah Kori asserted that Meitei Pangals will fight against all forces which may disintegrate the State.
Stating that Meitei Pangals will not remain as silent spectators if the unity and integrity of the State is compromised, he urged the Central and State Government to safeguard the integrity of Manipur and restore peace and normalcy.
Voicing the same demand, Youth Development Laikol also organised a sit-in at Yairipok Laikol in Imphal East district today.
Womenfolk of Thoubal Leishangthem Khong manung formed a human chain today raising the call for the protection of State's integrity, restoration of peace and normalcy in Manipur.
Participating in the protest demonstration which was carried out on the roadside of Thoubal Leishangthem Khongmanung road, leader of Meira Paibi Lup Irom Basanti while speaking at the sidelines expressed serious concern on unabated violence being carried out in the peripheral areas of the State.
Considering the suffering of the people caused by the wide scale violence, she urged the Central and State Government to bring an amicable solution at the earliest.
She also shared the pain and loss of the affected people whose houses have been burnt.
