Employees' team, others meet Governor

Imphal, June 05 2023:
A five-member team of All India State Govern-ment Employees' Confeder-ation Manipur State Unit led by Dr E Girani Singh called on Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan on Monday and submitted a memoran-dum detailing the prevailing deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
The Governor assured that steps taken up to prevent violence and security measures put in place will definitely help to restore/establish peace and normalcy.
According to a statement issued by the Governor's Secretariat, Khundrakpam assembly constituency ex-MLA Thokchom Ramesh-war, Apex Committee of Victim Villagers (Ekou, Sadu Yengkhuman, Dolaithabi and Leitanpokpi Mairen-pat) co-convenor L Basanta Meitei along with 6 others also met the Governor on Monday.
The team narrated horrific ordeals the displaced vil-lagers went through while also apprising the Governor of the hardships and suf-fering the displaced people are undergoing in terms of essentials items, basic medical care and education for the children among others issues and urged for taking necessary security measures to save lives and properties.
The Governor assured pos-sible help to all various relief camps and further stated that all efforts are put in order to restore peace and normalcy.
Meanwhile, Joint Trans-porters Committee Manipur led by its co-convenor Wa-hengbam Sanatomba along with 5 others meet with Governor and expressed hardships the people of the state are enduring due to the blockade/hindrance of national highways in terms of price hike of essential commodities, scarcity of life saving drugs and anguish of passengers due to stoppage of service of passenger ve-hicles.
The Governor assured that with the help of central forc-es and other security forces all highways will become completely operational to ease the suffering of the peo-ple of the state.
