State team taking part in Dubai Expo 2020

Tourism Department director Waikhom Ibohal Singh has shared that the Manipur team is successfully participating in the Dubai Expo 2020 and is getting positive responses from several international companies and firms which are showing interest in investment in state's tourism, handloom & handicraft and agro business.
Speaking to TPC via phone from Dubai, W Ibohal informed that the Expo is being held at Dubai Investment Park with stalls of NE states opened inside the India Pavilion.
The Manipur team also include a 16-member official delegation led by youth affairs and sports principal secretary SS Chhabra, he added.
Ibohal continued that the team also includes a cultural troupe, Sepak Takraw team and fashion show team along with noted folk singer Mangka, fashion designer Robert Naorem, etc.
Manipur's stall has been attracting visitors with display of state s tourist destinations including Kangla, Govindajee Temple, Loktak, Maibam Lotpa hill, etc.
The proposed Mega Eco-Tourism Project at Loktak Lake is also being highlighted at the Expo, he conveyed.
Ibohal also said that the team has performed cultural shows on March 5 to 6 and has been supported by Manipuris living in Dubai.
Business to government (B2G) discussions has also started from Monday onwards during which many companies have shown interest in the state and have given positive responses.
