Like several other cases that had occurred amid the violent conflict in Manipur, Chief Minister Y Khemchand announced that the case pertaining to the brutal murder of six Naga men has been handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) .
He said this on the sideline of a press conference held at the Durbar Hall of the Chief Minister's Secretariat today in connection with the celebration of '12 Years of Trust, Progress and Welfare' of Narendra Modi led NDA Government.

Responding to a media query, Khemchand acknowledged the growing demands to abrogate the Suspension of Operation (SoO) pact with Kuki militant groups and to remove Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen from her position.
He said it is natural for people to express their grievances to the Government.
No one is above the law, and even a Minister has to be penalised if found guilty, the Chief Minister said.
Notably, the remains of the six Nagas who were abducted from Leilon Vaiphei on May 13 were found at Kharam Vaiphei on June 10 .
Khemchand said the case (Without specifically referring to the killing of the Naga hostages) has been handed over to the NIA .
He further stated that the State Cabinet and the Assembly had already adopted a resolution to abrogate the Suspension of Operation (SoO) agreement signed between the Centre, the State Government, and over two dozen Kuki militant groups, but added that the pact has been extended as it is a Central subject.
Normalcy will not return to Manipur unless all those in possession of illegal weapons are disarmed, he said and added that a Battalion of CoBRA has arrived in Manipur for the purpose and is undergoing a 45-day training programme.
He stated that two more CoBRA Battalions will arrive in the State.
To another query, Khemchand said that Manipur is home to different tribes and communities and appealed to the media to handle sensitive issues carefully.
He also said that border fencing has been completed for around 53 km starting from the Churachandpur side, adding that 83 km had earlier been completed on the Kamjong side.
The Chief Minister said that he discussed the rehabilitation of internally displaced persons, the Act East Policy, and the reopening of border trade at Moreh and Pherzawl during his recent meeting with the Prime Minister.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his 'guidance, under which India has witnessed progress across various sectors during the last 12 years' .
Manipur has particularly benefited through major initiatives in infrastructure, education, healthcare, sports, connectivity and social welfare, contributing significantly to the State's development and growth during his tenure, he continued.
The Chief Minister said that Narendra Modi Narendra has become the longest-serving continuously elected Prime Minister in India's history.
Addressing the media, Khemchand stated that the first National Sports University of the country was set up in Manipur under the leadership of Narendra Modi by recognising the exceptional sporting talent and spirit of athletes in the State.
Regarding the implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) System in Manipur, he stated that the long-cherished demand of the people of Manipur was fulfilled by the ND A Government on December 9, 2019 .
The Chief Minister informed that the INS Imphal, largest and most advanced stealth guided missile destroyer, was launched and commissioned into the Indian Navy marking a proud moment for the people of Manipur.
He further stated that, for the first time in the history of Manipur, a medical college was established in Churachandpur marking a significant milestone.
Stating that the completion of railway connectivity project from Jiribam-Tupul-Imphal is targeted to be completed by 2028, he added that this project will connect the State's capital to the National capital and boost the economy of the State.
The ongoing construction of the new integrated terminal of the Imphal Airport is expected to be completed very soon, Khemchand added.
Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho stated that India achieved its emissions intensity reduction target of 33-35 per cent from 2005 levels, eleven years ahead of schedule.
Reductions have already exceeded 36 per cent, he added.
Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam, on the other hand, stated that border fencing along the Indo-Myanmar border is being carried out on a war footing.
Tourism Minister Khuraijam Loken Singh stated the Indian Government renamed Mount Harriet at Andaman and Nicobar Islands to Mount Manipur in October 2021 in honour of the Manipuri freedom fighters of Anglo Manipur War 1891 .
The press briefing was also attended by MLAs Tongbram Robindro Singh, S Premchandra Singh and Thongam Shanti Singh among others.
