Imphal, June 14 2026:
Wide Angle, supported by Child Rights and You (CRY), organised the 'Know Your Village' study tour on June 14, 2026, for around 100 conflict-affected children from Maklang.
Salam, and Tharoijam villages in Imphal West.
Designed as recreational therapy to ease trauma from the conflict since May 3, 2023, the immersive tour used local auto rickshaws fitted with a PA (public address) system to visit historical sites, government institutions, schools, and temples.
Children received on-the-spot explanations of each landmark, deepening their connection with local heritage.
Flagged off by Wide Angle secretary Montu Ahanthem, the programme concluded with an interactive session by local elders Maibam Rajen Singh, retired teacher, Navodaya Vidyalaya, and Khuraijam Ram Singh, Ward Member, Maklang, who narrated ancestral migration and village origins.
The initiative blended learning, culture, and healing, reflecting Wide Angle and CRY's commitment to experiential education and child welfare.
