Seminar on women writers held, Bangladeshi delegation feted

A state level seminar on 'Manipur Gee Ayibisinggee Khut-eeda Leibak Ningba' was held on Monday at Hotel Lanchen-ba, Sangakpham Keithel during which a 37-member Bangladeshi delegation which is in the state for taking part in the Manipur Sangai Festival, was also felicitated.
The seminar organised by Patriotic Writers' Forum.
Manipur was opened by Republic of Bangladesh's Supreme Court advocate SC Sinha.
The inaugural session of the seminar was attended by Imphal West up-Adhakshya L Bobby Devi as chief guest, Forum president Naoroibam Khamba Luwang as president and its patron members Dr S Sanaton and K Dilip as guests of honour.
Addressing the inaugural session of the seminar, L Bobby Devi said that organising the seminar would determine how much women writers love their motherland.
She also opined that a society which honours women will move to the path of development and every woman in the society should have characteristics of being a mother.
In his speech, advocate SC Sinha said the relation between Bangladesh and Manipur is now closer but requires frequent cultural exchange programmes to further strengthen the ties.
Though Manipuris settling in Bangladesh are in minority, every Manipuri in the country preserve the age old culture and tradition left by their forefathers all the time, he added.
Regarding the seminar, Forum secretary Rakesh Naorem said that love for the motherland will come naturally when people have the spirit of nationalism and patriotism in their veins and the main objective of organising the seminar was to spread the spirit of nationalism among people.
