Imphal, November 28 2022:
Drawing the attention of the chief minister and the education minister, All Manipur Elementary School Teachers' Association (AMESTA), Kakching has appealed for declaring the result of DPC conducted for promotion of senior teachers, which has been pending for a long time.
In a release, AMESTA, Kakching general secretary Md Basir Ahamad contended that numerous senior teachers who worked for 30-35 years retired and some no more alive while waiting for the DPC result.
Instead of declaring the DPC result, the teachers are told to attain BEd certificate with 50 per cent score.
The primary teachers should pursue DE-led not BEd, he pointed out, and further questioned how the idea of BEd certificate arises for primary teachers.
Amidst the demand for declaring the DPC result for promotion of senior teachers, it is inappropriate to instruct the teachers to appear TET examination as no such condition was there in the last 20/30 years in the teaching service, Basir continued and asserted that the senior teachers cannot accept such instructions.
He reiterated the appeal to the chief minister and the education minister for looking into the matter and declaring the DPC result at the earliest.
