Legendary Kuki pop artiste Michael Luncha holds concert

Kuki legendary singer Michael Luncha Kip gen is 54 but he is still very youthful onstage.
Luncha performed with his band on Sunday evening at Brig M Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi in an open air concert organised by Michael Luncha Kipgen Jaila - Thang Lom (MLJTL) as a curtain-raiser to the singer's grand felicitation next year around March.
The concert was attended by Saitu MLA Haokholet Kipgen as chief guest while ex-ADC Sadar Hills chairman Haokholal Hangshing and Thadou Inpi General Headquarters president Lamminthang Kipgen were guest of honour and functional president respectively.
Michael Luncha Kipgen's first recorded album "Chavang Ninou" was released in 1989 and his last album 'Chapang Kitol Chem" in 2000.He has to his credit around 15 albums with around 180 songs.
Some of his most popular songs are "Chavang Ninou", "Mittam Lanu", "Senlai Lanu", "Good Bye No 4", "Lhangkichoi", "Chavang Kut", etc.
To organise a grand felicitation in honour of his lifetime contribution in the field of music among the Kukis, Michael Luncha Jalai Thang Lom was formed this year in June.
Willingbou, who attended the concert on behalf of Saitu MLA Haokholet Kipgen, said that the greatest gift of God to the Thadou-Kuki community is the talent of singing and composing wonderful songs.
He then urged the Thadou Kuki community to utilise the gift and blessing of God to honour and praise Him.
Presentation to the guest by MLJTL advisor Kaisei Lhouvum and Chongpu Kipgen apart from the live performance by Michael Luncha Kipgen and Arjun Doungel marked the entertaining event attended by thousands of Michael Luncha fans from across the district.
