Senapati's Luther wins men's open DYMO marathon

Imphal, November 28 2022: LR Luther of Senapati district has won the 6th men's open DYMO Manipur Marathon 2022 organised by DYMO State Sports Committee on Sunday.

Luther completed the 42.5 km course in 2 hours, 25 minutes and 30 seconds to wrest the title.

The marathon flagged off from Naranseina in Bishnupur district by Moirang MLA Th Shanti with Uripok Achom Leikai as the finishing point was participated by over 200 athletes from across the country.

The second position was secured by S Manobi Singh Of Hojai, Assam, who clocked 2 hours, 32 minute and 52 seconds while third position winner H Ngaopulou of Senapati reached the finishing point in 2 hours, 39 minutes and 5 seconds.

Cash prizes of Rs 70,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 30,000 were awarded to the top three winners along with certificates, mementos, uniforms and certificates.

A sum of Rs 2000 each along with certificates, mementos, uniforms and certificates were also awarded to 25 athletes starting from the 4th position holder as consolation prizes while Rs 500 each was presented to every athlete who completed the race.
