Khemchand distributes CHC machineries to VLFs

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (RD&PR) minister Yumnam Khemchand distributed Custom Hiring Centre (CHC) machines provided under Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission (MSRLM) to different Village Level Federation (VLFs) in a function held at Kangla Sangomshang community hall, Imphal East on Monday.
Minister Khemchand and Lamlai MLA & Manipur Handloom and Handicraft Development Cooperative Limited chairman Khongbantabam Ibomcha attended the event as chief guest and president respectively while PHE minister Leishangthem Susindro and Imphal East deputy commissioner (DC) Kh Diana were present as guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Khemchand elaborated on various schemes for public welfare taken up under RD & PR department and urged the people to take advantage of these schemes.
He also urged the public to apply for availing financial benefits for expanding their activities and increasing sources of income generation but at the same time repay their loans in time.
While reminding that banks are taking risk by providing collateral free loans and the borrowers need to uphold the trust by making repayment on time, he also stressed the need for developing healthy relationship with banks to get financial assistance.
In his address, PHE minister Leishangthem Susindro said that most of the works taken up at the Panchayat level lack quality and proper execution.
He said that there is lack of land space in Khurai assembly constituency for taking up developmental projects.
However, he found that a government land area of around 100 hectares in Kangla Siphai has been the target of many encroachers, he said and added that the government will soon evict the encroachers and pull down their structures constructed on the basis of kutcha pata.
CHC machines like tractor and threshers were distributed to seven VLFs through Cluster Level Federation (CLF) during the event.
