State level seminar on locating Nationalist values in works of female Manipuri writers held

A one-day State-level seminar on "Manipurgi Nupi Ayibisingi Khuteeda Leibak Ningba" (patriotism in the works of female Manipuri authors) was kicked off today by SC Sinha, Supreme Court advocate of Bangladesh at Hotel Lanchenba located at Sangakpham Keithel.
As a part of the event organised by Patriotic Writers Forum (PAWF), Manipur, the 37-member team consisting of artists and delegates of Manipuri Cultural Complex (MCC), Bangladesh were also felicitated.
Dignitaries present at the event include L Boby Devi, Uppadhyaksha, Imphal West as the chief guest; Naoroibam Khamba Luwang, president, PAWF as the functional president and patron members of PAWF Dr S Manaoton and Konjengbam Dilip as the guests of honour.
The seminar was moderated by renowned author and Sahitya Akademi Awardee Dr S Lanchenba Meetei and many notable personalities presented their papers detailing the patriotic values present in the works of several female Manipuri writers.
Some of these include Dr Wahengbam Kumari who presented "Memchoubigi Sheirengda Tariba Leibak Ningbagi Mashak", Dr Sanasam Nabadwip Singh's "Yengkhom Indiragi Sheirengda Tariba Leibak Ningbagi Mashak", Dr Maya Nepram's "Borkeinyagi Sheirengda Tariba Leibak Ningbagi Mashak", Laishram Lenin Singh's "Ibempishakki Sheirengda Tariba Leibak Ningbagi Mashak", Dr Athokpam Umabati's "Khangembam Ibetongi Sheirengda Tariba Leibak Ningbagi Mashak", Dr Haibijam Chanu Prema's "Khwairakpam Anandinigi Sheirengda Tariba Leibak Ningbagi Mashak" and Dr Salam Shantibala's "Chongtham (O) Subadanigi Sheirengda Tariba Leibak Ningbagi Mashak".
Speaking on the occasion, L Boby Devi spoke in brief about the importance of women and mothers in the creation of a better society.
Delivering the chief guest speech, SC Sinha highlighted the close relations between Manipur and Bangladesh.
He stressed on the need to conduct more cultural exchange programs and collaborative developmental efforts to further improve these ties.
Further, he asserted that despite the small size of the Meitei community in Bangladesh, they are always trying to safeguard the cultural and traditional values of the forefathers.
PAWF secretary Rakesh Naorem also spoke on the occasion and stated that feelings of patriotism and nationalism are inborn characteristics.
Saying this, he urged the gathering to hold the country close to their hearts.
Many writers of the State also graced the event with their presence.
