Students interact with Bangladeshi writer

CI College Manipuri Department in collaboration with IQAC organised an iteration programme between students as well as faculties of the College and writer cum social activist Sanaton Hamom from Bangladesh at the college's seminar hall on Monday.
The programme was attended by College principle Dr M Mangi, IQAC coordinator Dr A Ingocha, assistant professor Dr K Bimola and Manipuri Department HOD Dr L Subita as the presidium members.
Addressing the gathering, Sanaton Hamom said that the Manipuris in Bangladesh are still preserving the Meetei tradition, culture and identity bestowed by the forefathers.
Pointing out that the Manipuri language is one among 45 other minority languages in Bangladesh, he urged government authorities of Manipur and India to extend all possible assistance so that Manipuri language is granted official recognition by the Bangladeshi government.
He also urged the government of Manipur to extend helping hands to Manipuris living in Bangladesh through the Indian High Commission.
