PREPAK shares thoughts on 46th raising day
Source: The Sangai Express

Imphal, October 08 2023: Greeting all the indigenous peoples of Kangleipak, leaders and comrades of other fraternal organisations, revolutionary parties of WESEA and all the oppressed and colonised people of the world, the proscribed People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) has shared its thoughts on different issues.

A statement issued by PREPAK Interim Council Chairman Aheiba Angom accused the Government of India of engineering ethnic divide among various ethnic communities in Kangleipak.

Referring to the violent conflict which erupted on May 3, 2023, Aheiba Angom said mercenaries and auxiliary forces have committed heinous war crimes against civilians, their houses gutted, more than 70,000 displaced, and many maimed and disabled for life.

The military campaign with sophisticated weapons, landmines and lethal bombs against innocent civilians, farmers, women and children in the foothills and the sabotaging of democratic protests with pellet guns have become a daily feature in Kangleipak, according to the statement.

Till today, there has been no effort to find out the dead bodies of the two young students murdered in captivity by Kuki militants.

The complete silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Government has revealed his real colonial stereotypical outlook with regard to the people of Kangleipak, it alleged.

The pre-planned Kuki narco-terrorists' aggression on the ethnic indigenous people has led to the mushrooming of several CSOs with different ideologies.

In the midst of this development, the rise of private armies of many Ministers/MLAs cannot be ruled out, read the statement.

The failure of some of the apex CSOs to build up a strong united front to thwart the challenges Kangleipak is facing today might have led to emergence of several minuscule CSOs which may wane away with time when the crisis is over.

Although, the CSOs may fail to bring forth a common front, they must work on a common agenda leaving aside their ideological differences for preserving and protecting the status of Kangleipak.

This phenomenon has happened in several parts of the world.

But one must be wary of the rise of well-armed private armies.

This will remain the most formidable hindrance in the way of building a united people's struggle for the National liberation movement, it said.

Ensnarement of the Kukis in the geopolitics of some thugs and their consequent utopian dream has led to the present crisis, the outfit's Interim Council Chairman asserted.

At first, the Kukis say their struggle is against the demand for inclusion of the Meeteis in the Scheduled Tribe list.

It then goes from Chin-Kuki-Mizo or Kuki-Zo unification to the establishment of a separate administration, read the Interim Council Chairman's statement.

Cycle of misinformation campaign by a few shrewd Kukis goes around the world portraying the Kuki aggression on Kangleipak as atrocities on minority Christian Kukis by majority Hindu Meeteis and lately land issues.

But the root cause of all these evils is the idea of Zalen'gam, it asserted.

With thriving narco-economy, some Kuki leaders touted this idea of the formation of an independent Zalen'gam by breaking up and uniting parts of India, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Kangleipak.

As a result, the Kuki settlements in Myanmar and Bangladesh have been uprooted due to the violent clashes.

This has led to the migration of hundreds of thousands of Kukis to Mizoram and Kangleipak as illegal immigrants or refugees.

These redundant Kuki leaders should take all the responsibilities of the sufferings of the innocent Kuki civilians in Kangleipak, it said.

Asserting that Kangleipak scripted the oldest Constitution in South East Asia, the Loiyumba Shinyen during the reign of King Loiyumba in the 11th-12th CE, Aheiba Angom said that the Kangleipak Constitution Act, 1947 established a democratic Cabinet form of Government till Kangleipak National Parliament was abolished with the alleged Indian annexation of Kangleipak on October 15, 1949 .

Since then the National liberation movement has been going on for the right to self determination, it said.

Gross violation of human rights and international humanitarian law has been continuing unabated in Kangleipak coupled with decimation of the indigenous population, exploitation of mineral and natural resources, proxy war in the name of ethnic crisis, and the establishment of a captive market economy, it continued.

The ethnic cauldron ignited by using mercenaries and auxiliary forces from inside and outside Kangleipak has been the regular feature of the alleged Indian colonialism and it is aimed at sabotaging the freedom movement in Kangleipak.

The massive movement of Indian traders, large scale influx of Bangladeshis and the continued migration of Myanmarese refugees in Kangleipak remained unchecked for decades as a weapon for demographic change to uproot the indigenous populations.

These alleged colonial dynamics are deeply synchronized to derail the legitimate Kangleipak people's struggle for self-determination, Aheiba said.

For decades, India has been exploiting mercenaries and auxiliary forces to contain the freedom movements in the North Eastern region of India.

The Kuki-Naga clash of 1993, Meetei-Meetei Pangal clash 1993, Kuki-Paite clash 1996, Kuki-Dimasa clash 2003, Kuki-Karbi clash 2004 and the recent Kuki-Meetei clash stand witnesses to these colonial designs, the PREPAK leader alleged.

These proxy wars will keep the various ethnic communities in the North-East divided, he added.

According to the outfit's statement, India has been continuously trying to sell off mineral resources of Kangleipak stealthily to many MNCs.

Besides, oil and natural gas, Kangleipak has vast deposits of Uranium in Chandel and Chromium in Ukhrul.

Chromite exploration in Ukhrul may lead to huge landslides in the hills which may create a natural catastrophe, it warned.

Indian has made Kangleipak a dependent State that serves as a captive market for all kinds of products from the rest of India.

The present onslaught of Kuki narco-terrorists has also uprooted the only vital economic sectors of Kangleipak, agriculture and handloom industry, it said.

"The non-uniform land laws and stunted economy have entangled the ethnic communities with one another.

Our people should be aware of these facts and situation and should rise for a full-fledged political emancipation that leads to freedom from India", Aheiba Angom said.

The outfit then saluted all those who were martyred in defending Kangleipak against the Kuki narco-terrorists' aggression and shared the grief, pain and agony of those killed in captivity with their dead bodies still untraced.

The party also shared the sorrows of those struggling in the relief camps, those who have been bearing the brunt of the Indian military forces, of those who suffered the tyranny of military boots and pellet guns, and of those who are maimed, physically or visually impaired and disabled.

PREPAK shall carry on this legitimate Kangleipak people's national liberation movement till Kangleipak joins the comity of Nations, it added.
