Shiv Sena submits memorandum to PM

A memorandum has been submitted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister for their intervention and update the National Register of Citizens (NRC) before Census 2027 operations, said Shiva Sena Manipur Pradesh president Moirangthem Tombi.
Addressing a press meet at Babupara today, Tombi said the memorandum was submitted to the PM and Union Home Minister through Shiv Sena National president Eknath Shinde recently.
Tombi said the memorandum submitted during his visits to Delhi and Mumbai starting July 28 highlighted issues Manipur has been facing due to illegal immigration.
In Delhi, Tombi said the party's Central leaders were apprised of the issues Manipur is facing.
In Mumbai, he attended an election related meeting of the parties in the NDA (National Democratic Alliance), Tombi said.
While the meeting discussed election strategies for the NDA, Tombi said he apprised the leaders of the parties on the Manipur issues and impressed on them the need for updating the NRC before Census in Manipur.
Commenting on the prevailing situation in Manipur, Tombi said "Shiva Sena Manipur is feeling ashamed being part of the NDA in Manipur" .
The Chief Minister is unable to expand his Cabinet and effectively implement developmental projects, Tombi said.
The Government is yet to establish a highway protection force and secure the highways, he added.
