PREPAK traces Manipur crisis to Zalen'gam dream
Source: Chronicle News Service

Imphal, October 08 2023: On the eve of its 46th foundation anniversary, which falls on October 9, the proscribed People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) has paid revolutionary salute to all the 'comrades' who laid down their precious lives in the national liberation struggle for the restoration of the lost sovereignty of Kangleipak, which it said imperialist India annexed in clear violations of international laws on October 15, 1949 .

The outfit also sent revolutionary goodwill message to the oppressed indigenous peoples of Kangleipak, leaders and comrades of other fraternal organisations, revolutionary parties of WESEA region and all the oppressed and colonized people of the world; paid 'red salute' to all those who have attained martyrdom while trying to defend Kangleipak against the Kuki narco-terrorists' aggression and shared grief, pain and agony of those killed in captivity with their bodies still untraceable; and shared the sorrows of those struggling in relief camps and surviving under the tyranny of military boots and pellet guns.

It also extended revolutionary greetings and paid highest respect to all those who achieved martyrdom in the inevitable journey for national liberation movement.

On the occasion, PREPAK's interim council chairman Aheiba Angom greeted the people and said that the Kanglei people have reached the optimum limit of colonial oppression crippled with unwarranted violence and crises.

"At this historical juncture, PREPAK is compelled to eloquently lay down before the people to come to a common outline on several issues facing Kanglei people today, Aheiba Angom said.

Beginning with the outfit's view on the issue of divide and rule arrangement of the oppressive rulers, Aheiba said that it is the bounden duty of a state to ensure protection of the lives and properties of its civilians all the times.

On the contrary, the administering oppressive power of India has ceaselessly engineered eth nic divide among the various ethnic communities in Kangleipak that has erupted into a volcano on May 3, 2023 by weaponising a particular community against the numerous indigenous ethnic communities.

The use of narco-terror activities as mercenaries and auxiliary forces has committed heinous war crimes against the civilians in Kangleipak, their houses gutted, more than 70,000 displaced, and scored maimed and disabled for life.

The military campaign with sophisticated Weapons, landmines and lethal bombs against the innocent civilians, farmers, women and children in the foothills and the sabotage of democratic protests with pellet guns has become a daily feature in the life of the Kanglei people.

India's misinformation campaign inside and outside Kangleipak and in the international arena has portrayed the proxy war in Kangleipak as India's internal matter while the unity of Kanglei people has been destroyed by the colonial stooge instead of bringing an amicable end to the present crisis.

The Hindutva agenda of Indian Prime minister, Narendra Modi has come to the fore when he tried to demonize the whole Meetei population in the eyes of the whole world following a viral video of two 'Kuki sisters' being paraded but failing to utter a word for those Meetei people who saved the modesty and lives of the two women.

The perpetuation of the 'Aryan Hindu Racism' in Kangleipak is now loud and clear as PM Modi fails to break his silence over the genocide campaign against the Kanglei people and stop these senseless killings.

India's complete silence over the inhuman and brutal murder of two young innocent students by Kuki militants has revealed India's racist hegemony again.

Till today, there has been no effort to find their bodies so as to enable the bereaved families perform their last rites.

The complete silence of PM Modi and his government has revealed his real suppressive stereotypical outlook towards the Kangleipak people, Aheiba Angom said.

Giving outfit's view on the issue of mushrooming of new CSOs and private armies, the PREPAK interim council chairman said that the pre-planned Kuki narco-terrorists' aggression on the ethnic indigenous people has led to the mushrooming of several CSOs with different ideologies, of which the rise of private armies of many ministers/MLAs cannot be ruled out.

The failure of some of the apex CSOs to build up a strong united front to thwart the challenges Kangleipak is facing today might have led to such sprouting up of several minuscule CSOs which may wane away with time when the crisis is over.

Although, the CSOs may fail to bring forth a common front, they must work on a common agenda leaving aside their ideological differences for preserving and protecting the status of Kangleipak.

This phenomenon has happened in several parts of the world.

But, one must be aware about the rise of the well-armed private armies of various colonially hypnotized so-called Kangleipak political leaders under the back-drop of the well-equipped security agencies.

This will remain the most irresistible hindrance and the only divisive force in the way of building a united people's struggle and ultimately a stumbling block to the national liberation movement.

According to Aheiba Angom, falling in the trap of the Kukis in the geopolitics of some thugs and their consequent utopian dream has led to the present crisis.

At first, the Kukis said their struggle is against the demand for inclusion of the Meeteis in the Scheduled Tribe List.

It then goes from Chin-Kuki-Mizo or Kuki-Zo unification to the establishment of a separate administration.

Cycle of misinformation campaign by a few shrewd Kukis went around the world portraying the Kuki aggression in Kangleipak as the atrocities committed on minority Christian Kukis by majority Hindu Meeteis and lately land issues.

However, the root cause of all these evils is the idea of Zalen'gam.

With thriving narco-economy, some Kuki gammocks flared out this idea of formation of an independent Zalen'gam by breaking up and uniting parts of India, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Kangleipak.

As a result of this the Kuki settlements in Myanmar and Bangladesh have been uprooted due to the violent clashes.

This has led to the migration of hundreds of thousands of Kukis in Mizoram and Kangleipak as illegal immigrants or refugees.

These redundant Kuki leaders' should take all the responsibilities of the sufferings caused to the innocent Kuki civilians in Kangleipak who are unaware of the honey traps of the Indian suppressive masterminds.

To be Contd .
