Imphal, October 08 2023:
While observing that MLAs and ministers are facing a torrid time trying to control the present crisis, Naoriya Kendra Apunba Lup convenor L Kulachandra cautioned that it would impossible to uphold the territorial integrity of Manipur when there are no ministers and MLAs and in case President's Rule (PR) is imposed in the state.
Speaking at a public meeting held to dissect the crisis situation and chalk up strategies to find a solution organised by Naoriya Kendra Apunba Lup at Haobam Marak Chingtham Leikai Lampak on Sunday, Kulachandra referred to the statement of NIA about involvement of illegal immigrants from Myanmar in the Manipur violence and that the crisis is war against India.
As such, it is regretful that we are fighting against one another and trying to create tension among ourselves, he said and urged all concerned to weigh the pros and cons of agitating against the MLAs and ministers amid the restive situation.
Further cautioning that movements aimed at slandering MLAs and ministers will eventually invoke imposition of PR in the state, he stressed the need for the public and the elected members work collectively for solving the crisis.
The meeting also adopted a number of resolutions which were later submitted in the form of a memorandum to Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC MLA.
The resolutions include - to consult Naoriya Kendra Apunba Lup in all agitations to prevent unwanted incidents and to lead the agitation along the right path, Lup to support organisations continuously working for the welfare of the public, consult the Lup in taking decision on resignation of MLAs as and when the need arise, support the war on drugs of the government and not to support any agitation which could dilute the on-going people's movement.
