Protest demands resettlement of displaced families

Kakching, October 08 2023:
Demanding resettlement of displaced families in their original homes, the All Kakching Clubs Coordinating Committee organised a sit-in protest at Naohallai Lampak.
The protest saw a large participation of Kakching public holding placards with various demands such as, to safeguard the territorial integrity of Manipur, enforcement of NRC in Manipur, abrogation of SoO agreement with Kuki militants, stringent punishment for theculprits involved in the brutal killing of two Meitei students, withdrawal of Assam Rifles from Manipur among others.
Mayanglambam Maniyaima, secretary, All Kakching Clubs Coordinating Committee called it unfortunate that the current dispensation at both the Centre and the State have not taken up any concrete steps to bring the 5-month old conflict to an end.
Stressing on the hardships faced by the common people as a result of the protracted conflict, she urged the Government to resolve the conflict at the earliest and restore normalcy in Manipur and alleviate people's suffering.
