Relay hunger strike, sit-in continue

The relay hunger strike launched to demand justice for slain students Phijam Hemanjit and Hijam Linthoingambi continued at Takyel Kolom Leikai and Tera Tongbram Leikai on Sunday.
The relay hunger strike, launched by the JAC from October 2 is being participated by members of Meira Paibi groups, organisations and associations from different places.
The protest at Takyel Kolom Leikai on Sunday attended by around 70 members of Heinoupok Women's Welfare Association demanded punishment to those involved in the murder of the two students at the earliest, and handing over the mortal remains of the duo to their respective families as soon as possible.
A similar protest was also staged at the locality of student Hijam Linthoingambi in Tera Tongbram Leikai.
Meanwhile, All Kakching Clubs Coordinating Committee organised a sit-protest at Kakching Keithel on Sunday demanding restoration of peace, rehabilitation of displaced people back to their homes and protection of Manipur's integrity.
The agitators held placards inscribed with slogans like "government should resolve the prevailing conflict", "rehabilitate displaced persons in their respective places", "punish killers of two students", "revoke SoO agreement with Kuki militants", "implement NRC in the state", "we want peace", "long live Manipur", etc., during the sit-in, also participated by Kakching MLA M Rameshwar, elders, inmates of relief camps, Kakching Keithel vendors, shopkeepers and representatives of local clubs, among others.
