Plate cricket: YPHU beat KIYC by 10 runs

Imphal, January 10 2023:
YPHU (Lalambung Makhong) beat KIYC (Kshetrigao by 10 runs in the Tues day's action of the 7th MNCA Plate Tournament.
YPHU opted to bat first and were all out for 141 in 32 overs.
Birbal Irom led the innings with 43 off 48 balls as Amrendra Prasad Gupta made 17 off 30 balls and Moirangthem Thomas was unbeaten on 16 off 25 balls.
Considering their total, the Lalambung Makhong appeared to be on the cusp of defeat, but they managed to turn the tide, thanks to their bowling unit.
YPHU skittled out KIYC for 131 in 20 overs.
Birbal Irom was the pick of YPHU's bowlers as he snapped four wickets while Moirangthem Thomas claimed two scalps, with Robinson Meitei Sandham, Bishworah Sharma, Niketan Miasnam and Irom Sunny Singh accounting for one apiece to help their seal the victory.
In KIYC's chase, Mohd Abdul Hamid (25), Azmad Kh (20 not out), Aneesh Ahmed (15) and Md Farhat (15) were the batters who got into double digits.
Earlier, Md Kaosar bagged three wickets as Azmad Kh, Aneesh Ahmed and M Abdulla Khan took one each for the Kshetrigao side.
Birbal Irom (4 wickets & 43 runs) was named the man of the match.
