Health minister launches AI enabled ECG device

Health minister Dr Sapam Ranjan has launched the first of its kind artificial intelligence (AI) and Bluetooth enabled ECG device "KardiaMobile 6L" approved by the food and drug administration (FDA) of the US, at the Classic Grande, Chingmeirong on Tuesday.
The 6-lead personal ECG device of AliveCor can be linked to a mobile phone and receive the result within 30 seconds.
Speaking at the event, minister S Ranjan pointed out that the number of people suffering from cardiovascular diseases has been increasing in the state and there have been instances where patients die before medical care could be provided.
Therefore, the state government under the initiative of the chief minister has been taking serious note of the diseases and people are being provided the benefit of home screening for non-communicable diseases (NCD) through the chief minister's health for all (CMHA) scheme.
The minister further stated that with the increase in NCDs among the people, there is the need to use such AI and Bluetooth enabled ECG devices which help to monitor and check the problems related with heart.
Presided over by AliveCor sales and marketing (South Asia) director Munish Yadav, the launch function was also attended by state mission director NHM Dr Somorjit Ningombam as guest of honour.
