AR organises lecture on NMBA; water tanks distributed

Churachandpur Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a lecture on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) for the youth of Santing L village in Churachandpur district on Tuesday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that aim of the event was to motivate the youth and educate them about the ill effects of drug abuse.
The lecture also highlighted the importance of yoga and sports to fight against drug abuse as well as to motivate the youth to take up sports and fitness activities to improve their lifestyle along with making them aware about various government rehabilitation schemes to assist in detoxification and Nasha Mukti.
A total of 30 youths of Santing L village attended the lecture and applauded the efforts of Assam Rifles for providing such fruitful events.
In another release, the PRO informed that Shangshak Battalion of IGAR (S) under Operation Sadbhavana provided 10 water storage tanks (1,000 Itr) to Punamram village on Tuesday.
Village headman and village authority of Punamram village approached the Battalion and projected the requirement of water storage tanks for the village since they are facing water supply issues and need arrangement to store water.
The locals and village authorities applauded the efforts of Assam Rifles and urged to undertake more such initiatives benefiting the development of village infrastructure, added the PRO.
