Kishan takes 6 wickets as Manipur look to gain innings advantage

Kishan Singha racked up six wickets as Manipur looked well-positioned to gain a first-inning advantage, chasing Meghalaya's 157 in their Ranji Trophy plate group match at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
After bowling out Meghalaya for 157 in 53.1 overs in their first innings, Manipur collected 81 for 4 in 25 overs at stumps, trailing by 76 runs on the first day of the match.
Kishan Singha stole the show as he wreaked havoc on Meghalaya's batting order, claiming six wickets in his prolific spell of 13.1 overs, backed up by one wicket each from Jotin Pheiroijam, Bishworjit and Bikash Singh to make light work of the Meghalaya's innings.
In their chase, Langlonyamba M top-scored for Manipur with 48 off 61 balls as Ronald was unbeaten on 17 off 52 balls and Jotin Pheiroijam made 9 (not out) to close out the day with 81/4 .
Three of the state team's wickets fell to RB Bishnoi Jr and one to Abhishek.
Manipur currently are second in the plate group point table with 14 points while Meghalaya are well-placed at the top of the table with 25 points.
The two finalists (winners of semifinal matches) in the plate group will get promoted to elite group in the next season 2023-24 .
