'Affirmation', 'Solidarity' Day observance on May 3

Stating that the first attacks by Chin-Kuki-Zo on the Meetei people challenging integrity and territory of Manipur will complete a year on May 3, Lanthabal Kendra Clubs Coordinating Committee and Langthabal Kendra Meira Paibi Coordinating Committee resolved to observe May 3 as 'Phirep Louminnaba Numit' (joint affirmation day) for upholding Manipur's integrity.
In a release, Lanthabal Kendra Clubs' Co-ordinating Committee and Langthabal Kendra Meira Paibi Coordinating Committee stated that the observance will be held at Kakwa Pukhri Achouba Mapal community hall.
Urging the people to attend the observance and take part in adopting the resolutions to protect Manipur, and expose and defeat adversary elements, the release likened the on-going conflict started by the Kukis to the seven years devastation of 1819.Meanwhile, announcing observance of May 3 as 'Manipuri Solidarity Day', Thoubal Amasung Kakching District Apunba Lup (TAKDAL) appealed to all Manipuris to light candle at the gate of their houses and along the national highways from 6-7 pm to show solidarity to martyrs of the ongoing conflict.
In a release, TAKDAL convener W Jotinkumar conveyed that one needs to pay respect and honour the courage of those who sacrificed their lives for the motherland and victims of the conflict engulfing the state for almost one year now.
Anyone who challenges the 'Idea of Manipur' which strives for all Manipuris to live together harmoniously should be opposed unitedly by all communities along with protecting the indigenes of the state, it emphasised.
TAKDAL also claimed that the planned ethnic cleansing proxy war carried out by Chin-Zo-Kuki narco-terrorists and illegal immigrants from May 3, 2023 in Manipur, which has history of more than 3000 years with many communities living together harmoniously, has affected all communities residing in the state.
Scores of innocents from both Kuki and Meetei communities have been killed, several injured, over 60,000 people internally displaced, thousands taking shelter in relief camps facing an uncertain future mainly due to the government's failure to control law and order in addition to hills becoming lawless contrary to the valley people facing suppression from government forces.
TAKDAL continued that due to worsening law and order situation, numerous youths have become village volunteers and sacrificed their lives to protect Manipur's identity and integrity while women are on roads keeping to defend the state.
