Imphal, January 10 2023:
Aggrieved students of DM University on Tuesday protested shortage of basic infrastructure in the university by locking up class rooms, while also demanding authorities concerned to look into the matter immediately.
Speaking to the media, a student named Borish Thongam lamented after almost five years since that college was upgraded to a university it still lacks various infrastructures and manpower including teachers, regular registrar, controller of examinations and finance officer.
While expressing dissatisfaction over absence of the university's VC and registrar at their offices on Tuesday, Borish also demanded resignation of the education minister and commissioner on moral ground considering the pitiful condition of the university.
He also cautioned authorities concerned that intense agitations will be launched by the students if the government fails to address shortages of the university within this week.
