Education Minister Thounaojam Basantakumar has categorically stated that the future of the State lies absolutely on the students although they constitute only 25 per cent of the whole population.
Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BSEM) observed its golden jubilee celebration at Manipur State Film Development Society, at Palace Compound, today with Thounaojam Basantakumar, BOSEM Chairman A Joykumar, Commissioner (Education) H Gyan Prakash and Education (S) Director L Nandakumar attending.
At the function, Basantakumar said that BSEM celebrating golden jubilee is remarkable as it was established to work in the interest of the students.
Continuing that the Education Department has been working to bring some positive changes in the sector and uplift the student community as it is them who will decide the future of Manipur, Basantakumar exuded confidence that the endeavour will surely bear fruit although it may take some time.
He also appealed to the students to be aware of the fast changing world and learn soft skills and take part in community and team work.
Dr Ranjan added that self discipline is key to success.
Asking the students to consider Class X examination as their first competitive examination and not to use smartphones excessively, the Education Minister conveyed best wishes to all the students.
The dignitaries distributed awards and prizes to some students during the function.
