84th birth anniversary of Thang-ta Shintakpa Sinam Devabrata observed

The 84th birth anniversary of Oja Sinam Devabrata, a pioneer in the field of Thang-ta artform was observed today at Neinasang Club community hall, Sagolband Tera Loukrakpam Leikai.
The birth anniversary observation was organised by Laaman Thang-Ta, a Huyen Lallong Manipur Indigenous Martial Arts Research cum Training Centre.
The programme was graced by Grand Master and vice-president of All India Mansuria Kung-fu Thangjam Shantikumar as the chief guest; Hula Sindamsang president Wangkhem Maheshwor as the president and Pukhrambam Rajendra as the guests of honour, said a press release by Living Arts Academy Manipur Thang-ta secretary.
Delivering the keynote address of the programme, Laaman Thang-Ta president cum director, Chungkham Sunilkumar said that the birth anniversary is being observed to honour the countless contributions made by the renowned Thang-Ta personality and to raise awareness among the masses particularly the youths about his teachings and principles.
He also highlighted the need of pursuing the footsteps of Oja Sinam Devabrata and stressed that one should never forget the valuable efforts of this eminent personality.
Addressing the programme, Pukhrambam Rajen stressed on the need of learning Thang-Ta by every individual and to inculcate the tactics of this disciplined artform for a healthy living.
Practising Thang-ta regularly will contribute in enhancing one's personality and will lead in the promotion of this indigenous artform, he added.
Thangjam Shantikumar while speaking as the chief guest lauded Laaman Thang-Ta for organising the programme with the objective to spread awareness about the importance of Thang-Ta.
He also maintained that Thang-Ta played a key role in his achievement of becoming a grand master of Kung-Fu.
