Imphal, October 07 2022:
United Committee Manipur (UCM) president Joychandra Konthoujam has said that people who come out to serve the State must not work in self interest.
He made the statement during the inaugural ceremony of UCM branch office at Meitei Langol Aying Leikai, today.
Without taking any name, the UCM president said that people should avoid giving or occupying position of civil society organisations (CSOs) or any other organisations without doing any work but work according to the responsibilities conferred upon them to address the issues of the State.
"We can find a solution for the chronic issues besieging the State if we are truthful to our work and do our duties responsibly," he added.
Continuing that the committee opted to open its branch at Langol as the place is home to different communities, Joychandra stated that the new branch of UCM will work to address the issues of the locality.
The new branch of UCM will be managed by a chairman and a secretary, he added.
Other functionaries of UCM also attended the programme.
